Brad Marchand suffers concussion vs. Canadiens

Boston Bruins left winger Brad Marchand is out indefinitely with a concussion, coach Claude Julien told reporters Sunday.

Marchand suffered the injury late in the third period of Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Montreal Canadiens at TD Garden. He was attempting to make a play when his head made contact with the elbow of Canadiens right winger Dale Weise. Marchand fell to the ice, was slow getting up and struggled his way to the bench before trainers grabbed him and escorted him to the locker room.

Julien also announced that the team has placed defenseman Matt Irwin on waivers.
