Dennis Seidenberg to miss first few days of Bruins' camp

NHL, Boston Bruins

BOSTON -- The Boston Bruins will begin training camp without defenseman Dennis Seidenberg due to an upper-body injury.

After the Bruins completed their off-ice conditioning tests and physicals Thursday at TD Garden, general manager Don Sweeney announced that Seidenberg will not skate with the team for the first few days of training camp.

The Bruins begin the on-ice portion of camp Friday.

According to Sweeney, Seidenberg informed the team's training staff Monday of his injury, which he suffered during offseason training.

"Our doctors have chosen to take a conservative approach and re-evaluate day-to-day," Sweeney said.

After Seidenberg was limited to 34 games in 2013-14 due to a knee injury, the 34-year-old blueliner played all 82 games for the Bruins last season.
