In a year where the NHL's free agent class is lacking in high-level talent, most teams have elected not to spend big. In the past, most of the top names went off the board quickly - often times on contracts that ended up being regrettable (just ask the Maple Leafs about David Clarkson or the Red Wings about Stephen Weiss).
But with teams being more cautious this time around, a number of unrestricted free agents who could come at a reasonable price and make an impact in 2015-16 are still available.
