Chris Stewart won't play Game 3 vs. Chicago

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Minnesota Wild forward Chris Stewart will miss Game 3 against the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday because of an upper-body injury, according to coach Mike Yeo.

Stewart crashed hard into the end wall in the second period during Game 2 on Sunday and missed a few shifts, but he was able to return in Minnesota's 4-1 loss.

"He's day-to-day. He's not playing tonight," Yeo said after the team's morning skate at Xcel Energy Center.

Blackhawks defenseman Johnny Oduya tripped Stewart before he crashed awkwardly into the boards, but there was no penalty on the play and Yeo was visibly upset with the officials.

"Yeah, of course, at the time we're down, so probably a little more frustration at the time," Yeo said Tuesday. "Obviously, he was able to come back in the game. It was a scoring chance on the play and we know he gets banged up on the play. We didn't lose the game because of that."

As a result of Stewart's absence, the Wild's Jordan Schroeder will be in the lineup for only the second time this postseason. Yeo told Schroeder after the morning skate that he would be playing.

"Yeah, I'm real excited," Schroeder said. "It's not about me or individuals, it's about the team. We have to come out and play a solid game to get a win."
