Mikko Koivu a late scratch for Wild

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Minnesota Wild captain Mikko Koivu was a late scratch from Saturday night's 3-2 shootout loss to the Detroit Red Wings because of an eye injury.

He is listed as day to day.

The Wild center participated in warm-ups before his removal was announced. He was one of three Minnesota players -- Charlie Coyle and Jason Pominville were the others -- to have played in all the Wild's games this season.

Koivu has 14 goals and 33 assists this season, including three goals and two assists in his past four games.

Minnesota coach Mike Yeo said Koivu should be "absolutely fine'' by the team's next game on Monday.
