TAMPA, Fla. -- Alex Killorn scored a tiebreaking goal midway through the third period, Ben Bishop made 30 saves and the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Detroit Red Wings 3-1 on Friday night.

Tampa Bay also got goals from Anton Stralman and from Steven Stamkos, who got his 40th this season on late empty-netter. The second-place Lightning hold an eight-point advantage over the Red Wings in the Atlantic Division.

Tomas Tatar scored for the Red Wings, who have lost 6 of 8. Detroit is 9-11-6 in Atlantic Division games.

Killorn put the Lightning ahead 2-1 by beating Jimmy Howard from the low slot off nice passes by Victor Hedman and Jonathan Drouin about halfway through the third.

DUCKS 3, AVALANCHE 2, OT

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Corey Perry scored the winner as the Anaheim Ducks swept their three-game homestand.

Perry corralled the puck after Sami Vatanen knocked it out of the Ducks' zone and raced down the ice before sending it past Semyon Varlamov 1:25 into the extra period, securing another dramatic late-game victory.

The Ducks are now 29-1-7 in games decided by one goal this season.

Frederik Andersen stopped 38 shots for the Ducks, picking up his second win in four starts since suffering a neck injury in February.

Varlamov made 37 saves, as the Avalanche's streak of four consecutive road wins came to an end.

DEVILS 3, SABRES 1

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Steve Bernier scored twice, including the 100th of his career.

Scott Gomez and Adam Henrique set up both goals in helping New Jersey improve to 3-0-1 in its past four. Jordin Tootoo also scored for the Devils (31-29-11), who inched up the Eastern Conference standings by moving into a tie for 11th with Philadelphia.

Backup goalie Keith Kinkaid stopped the first 27 shots he faced -- and 28 overall -- before having his shutout bid end with 8:19 left, when Matt Moulson scored a power-play goal.

The last-place Sabres (20-44-7) had a modest 1-0-1 streak snapped, and dropped to 1-6-2 in their past nine.
