BOSTON -- Boston's Brad Marchand scored the tying goal late in regulation and added the winner in overtime as the Bruins beat the Philadelphia Flyers 3-2 on Saturday

Marchand sent it to OT with 14.1 seconds left and then won it 3:52 into the extra session.

Zdeno Chara had a power-play goal for Boston, and Tuukka Rask made 29 saves, including two excellent stops in overtime.

Chris Vandevelde and Jakub Voracek scored for the Flyers, who fell five points behind Boston in the chase for the Eastern Conference's second wild card.

Steve Mason made 34 saves for Philadelphia.

The Bruins are 4-1-1 in their last six games after losing six straight (0-4-2).

LIGHTNING 5, STARS 4

TAMPA, Fla. -- Alex Killorn and Victor Hedman scored early third-period goals, and Tampa Bay rallied to top Dallas.

After Killorn scored from the low slot at 3:40, Hedman gave Tampa Bay a 4-3 lead 1:51 later. It was just the second time this season the Lightning have won when trailing after two periods (2-18-2).

Anton Stralman, Nikita Kucherov and Brian Boyle had the other Lightning goals. Ondrej Palat had three assists.

Dallas center Tyler Seguin scored two goals in his return after missing 10 games due to a sprained right knee. He was hurt on a hit by Florida defenseman Dmitry Kulikov on Feb. 13.

Vernon Fiddler also scored twice for Dallas.

AVALANCHE 4, BLUE JACKETS 0

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Jarome Iginla, Gabriel Landeskog and Matt Duchene scored in the first 10 minutes, and Semyon Varlamov made 44 saves to lead Colorado over Columbus.

The shutout was Varlamov's fifth of the season and the 18th of his NHL career. Three have come against the Blue Jackets.

Alex Tanguay had a goal and an assist, and Tyson Barrie had three assists for the Avalanche, who played their first game without last season's rookie of the year, Nathan MacKinnon. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2013 draft broke a bone in his foot blocking a shot and is unlikely to play again this season.

PANTHERS 4, ISLANDERS 3, SO

SUNRISE, Fla. -- Jonathan Huberdeau scored the deciding shootout goal to lift Florida over the New York Islanders.

Huberdeau beat Michal Neuvirth in the first round of the tiebreaker on the stick side.

Huberdeau also scored in regulation, and Nick Bjugstad and Erik Gudbranson added goals for the Panthers. Dan Ellis stopped 25 shots in his second start since being recalled from the AHL. Ellis turned aside all three shots in the shootout.

Jaromir Jagr had an assist for Florida.

Josh Bailey, Nick Leddy and John Tavares scored for the Islanders. Neuvirth made 15 saves in his first start since being acquired from Buffalo on March 2. Tavares also had two assists.

The Panthers won for the first time in three games. The Islanders have lost three of four.

CAPITALS 6, SABRES 1

WASHINGTON -- Curtis Glencross notched a goal and two assists, Alex Ovechkin returned from a one-game injury absence to score his NHL-leading 44th goal, and Washington routed Buffalo.

Jay Beagle added a goal and an assist for Washington, which broke a 1-all tie with three second-period scores.

Brooks Laich, Joel Ward, and Marcus Johansson also scored, and Mike Green and Nicklas Backstrom had two assists apiece.

Braden Holtby made 16 saves.

Johan Larsson scored for Buffalo, which has lost the first four games of a five-game road trip.

Ovechkin, who added an assist, has five goals in his last three games.

Matt Hackett, recalled Saturday from Rochester of the AHL, stopped 19 of 23 shots before being lifted in the second period.

CANADIENS 2, COYOTES 0

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Carey Price made 29 saves for his seventh shutout, and Montreal beat slumping Arizona.

Lars Eller and Brendan Gallagher scored for the Eastern Conference-leading Canadiens, who snapped a three-game losing streak. Montreal scored six goals during its four-game road trip, three coming Thursday at Los Angeles.

Mike Smith made 33 saves for the Coyotes, who have lost 10 of 11 and 12 of 14.

Arizona was shut out for the ninth time this season, one fewer than Buffalo's NHL-worst 10.

The Canadiens broke the scoreless deadlock at 4:48 of the second period. Gallagher scored into an empty net in the closing seconds.

JETS 3, PREDATORS 1

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Blake Wheeler scored the go-ahead goal midway through the second period, and Winnipeg sent Nashville to its season-worst sixth straight defeat.

Michael Frolik and Drew Stafford also scored for the Jets, who have won two of three.

Ryan Ellis had the Nashville goal. Before this skid, the Predators hadn't lost three in a row all season.

Frolik scored the game's first goal at 14:54 of the opening period, his 15th of the season. Frolik's six-game point streak established a career high. He has four goals and two assists in that span.

BLUES 6, MAPLE LEAFS 1

TORONTO -- Jori Lehtera and Alexander Steen both had three assists, and six St. Louis players scored in a rout of Toronto.

The Blues (41-19-5) snapped a two-game skid and moved within two points of Central Division-leading Nashville.

Toronto has lost 28 of 35. Jonathan Bernier gave up three goals on 17 shots before being pulled. James Reimer gave up the other three goals on 27 shots.

Jaden Schwartz, T.J. Oshie, Vladimir Tarasenko, Chris Butler, Paul Stastny and David Backes scored for the Blues.

Brian Elliott was barely tested in making 23 saves. He allowed just a third-period goal to David Booth.
