David Clarkson out with torn muscle

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Columbus Blue Jackets right winger David Clarkson will miss four to six weeks with a torn oblique muscle suffered Tuesday night against the Washington Capitals.

The injury-ravaged club has totaled 406 man-games lost to injury with 19 games remaining in the season. Last season's total was 292.

The 30-year-old Clarkson was acquired Feb. 26 from Toronto for injured right winger Nathan Horton. He was scoreless in three games.

Teammates on the injured list include center Boone Jenner (stress fracture in back, has missed last 32 games), left winger Jeremy Morin (elevated heart rate, missed last 17), defenseman Ryan Murray (high ankle sprain, missed last 13) and right winger Jack Skille (shoulder, out remainder of season). Three other Blue Jackets are also sidelined.
