BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- Former NHL player Todd Bertuzzi has signed a professional tryout agreement with the American Hockey League's Binghamton Senators.
The Ottawa Senators' affiliate said Friday that Bertuzzi will report Monday.
The 39-year-old Bertuzzi has 314 goals and 456 assists in 1,159 regular-season games in the NHL with the New York Islanders, Vancouver, Florida, Anaheim, Calgary and Detroit. He had nine goals and seven assists in 59 games for the Red Wings last season.
In September, Steve Moore's $38 million lawsuit against Bertuzzi and the Canucks was settled shortly before trial. Bertuzzi pleaded guilty to criminal assault causing bodily harm for a 2004 hit on Moore during a game.
Moore's lawsuit alleged the Canucks put a bounty on him following his check as a Colorado Avalanche rookie that injured Vancouver captain Markus Naslund. Moore sustained a concussion and three fractured vertebrae, ending his playing career.
