Rangers sign Ryan Malone

NHL, New York Rangers

The New York Rangers have agreed to terms with free-agent forward Ryan Malone, the team announced Thursday afternoon.

Malone, who was arrested for a DUI and cocaine possession earlier this summer, signed a two-way deal with the team, a source told ESPN.com, giving the Rangers flexibility in trying to fill out their roster heading into training camp.

Malone's NHL salary on the two-way deal is worth $700,000, the source confirmed to ESPN.com; his AHL salary is $100,000.

The 34-year-old Malone, a six-time 20-goal scorer, has been participating in informal skates with the Rangers at their Westchester, New York, practice facility in recent days.

The team also signed restricted free agent John Moore to a deal Wednesday.
