Service award finalists announced

NEW YORK -- Boston's Patrice Bergeron, San Jose's Brent Burns and Chicago's Duncan Keith are finalists for the NHL Foundation award for community service.

The NHL announced the three finalists on Thursday after clubs nominated players for selection by a panel of judges. The NHL Foundation will donate $25,000 to a charity of the player's choice after the winner is announced at the June 24 NHL Awards show in Las Vegas.

Bergeron was cited for bringing youth to Bruins games, and Burns for his donations of more than $1 million to a group that provides children from military families the chance to play hockey. Keith has been raising money to help families dealing with medical crises.
