Sabres' Jhonas Enroth injured in loss

NHL, Buffalo Sabres, Montreal Canadiens

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Sabres starting goalie Jhonas Enroth was escorted to the locker room following a collision in the second period of Buffalo's 2-0 loss to Montreal on Sunday night.

The injury forced Nathan Lieuwen to make his NHL debut after being called up from AHL Rochester earlier in the day.

Enroth was hurt after being bowled over by Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher, who was upended during a partial break. Driving up the left side, Gallagher just got a shot off when he was shoved from behind by Sabres defenseman Jamie McBain and knocked into Enroth.

Enroth lay on the ice for a few moments, and then tried to stretch his right leg before leaving the game.

The Sabres called up Lieuwen after backup Michal Neuvirth was sidelined with a lower body injury.
