CHICAGO -- Blackhawks forward Brandon Saad was ruled out of Sunday's 4-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings with an upper-body injury during the third period. Saad's final shift of the game ended with 8:35 left in the second period. He had zero shots on goal and a zero rating, and had 11 shifts and 6:21 of ice time in the game. "He seemed all right here," Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said after the game. "I don't think it's too serious, but we'll have a better idea [Monday]." Saad leads the Blackhawks with a plus-29 rating and is sixth on the team with 44 points. He has 19 goals and 25 assists in 68 games this season.
