#45 Ben Eaves
Nov 6: Eaves has apparently retired from hockey, reports the Nashville Tennessean.
According to Nashville coach Barry Trotz, Eaves recently told the organization he was done and was looking at different career options such as teaching. "I think he just felt like he didn't have the passion," Trotz said. "Probably more than anything, his body was telling him he couldn't do it. He just came in and said, ?I think I'm going to get on with my life,' so he's sort of semi-retired or retired." Eaves was selected by Pittsburgh in the fourth round (131st overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, but proceeded to spend the better part of eight years kicking around the NCAA, ECHL, AHL and Finnish Elite Leagues before calling it a career. He never played a single game in the NHL.
