(ESPN made a mistake and listed the Linbdback article as today's first story...it happened July 6th) Typical hater that posts the first negative thing that comes to his mind. Their knowledge comes from skimming headlines. These jerks fester on the Hawks site. Semin doesn't fit in Detroit's system. At least Detroit has players who act like they want to play on the ice unlike some teams (cough). Now he posts here how great Bowman is. Which is it? Which voice in your head are you going to listen to Miguel? You are as dumb looking as you type.

reading through this thread of comments made me realize how lost some of my fellow Lightning "fans" are. Mike Smith was not let go, Yzerman offered him a contract and Smith decided to go to a team where he was almost guaranteed the number one job. NO ONE could've foreseen Smith having such a turn around season this year. I wanted them to re sign him last summer because i always thought he'd develop, but the past is the past. The Lightning were specifically looking for a young goalie of the future that could step up, not Roberto Luongo. They were mainly looking at Bernier, Schneider, and Lindback. and we know the Canucks arent going to part with Schneider..Dustin Tokarski will be a pretty good goalie, but hes still not ready. Lindback is much more developed right now, has more NHL experince, and not to mention this guy is a giant compared to Tokarski's stature..

Smitty still would have looked poor in net for Tampa if they had re-signed him. The D was just awful this past season. The games that Garon won he basically stole from the other team. Its hard to win hockey games when you see 35+ shots on net each night. If and when they address that issue, they will make either of the two netminders look solild.

I'd like to state that on the "NHL" page the summary of the story says "Nashville Senators" not "Nashville Predators." I wasn't confused (I know what team Lindback played for last season), but it's amusing to me.

Good move for Tampa IF they actually commit to him. Tampa has had good goalies the past few years that they haven't stuck with (mike smith, cedrick desjardins, antero nittymaki, and decent: karri ramo).

Smith was a late bloomer, Desjardins wasnt going to be much more than a backup (not because of lack of skill, but lack of oppurtunity), Nittymaki is a career back up, and dont even get me started on Ramo..

With Dustin Tokarski in the system another future #1 pick doesn't seem all that important to me. Tik played awesome in his call up last season. He was the only one playing with any kind of heart when the playoffs were slipping away. He then went on to lead Norfolk to the Calder Cup, letting in only 1 goal in the entire finals (4 game sweep.) Put a team around Tokarski and Linbback and watch us make the playoffs again.

I like the move by the Preds, despite Lindback looking like he will be a solid goalie the Preds have Pekka signed for the long term and needs to free up cap space to resign guys like Suter.

free up cap space for Suter? I'm pretty sure Suter isnt going to take 800k a year. Get over it, hes leaving. Small market teams rarely get to keep their good players, especially if they're only about the money

Good move by Yzerman. Lindback came relatively cheap and he's been waiting to bust out on his own and show he can be a solid dependable starter in the NHL. God knows the Lightning need one!
