Michael Vick's return didn't last long. Now it's uncertain when he'll be back.
The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback left the team's 15-7 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday late in the second quarter with his ailing hamstring acting up.
Vick, making his first start since he injured his left hamstring on Oct. 6, was replaced by Matt Barkley. Vick was 6 of 9 for 31 yards and threw an interception. He had little mobility and did not appear close to recovered. He missed the past two games.
"I've never had a hamstring injury this bad," Vick said.
Vick, the NFL's career QB rushing leader, tested the hamstring last week in practice and insisted he was ready to play.
Coach Chip Kelly gave Vick the bulk of the first-team snaps instead of Barkley, perhaps a mistake with no guarantees Vick could stay healthy.
From the start, Vick never had it going. He threw an interception on Philadelphia's first drive of the game, fumbled on the second, then came up lame on a sideline run.
"I felt good going in," Vick said. "I felt like I did everything I was supposed to do to reassure myself I could go out and play. But there's just nothing like being in the moment and having to move and having to react. When I did that, that's when I pulled it again.
"I felt the pop."
It's uncertain whom the Eagles will start next week at Oakland, with Nick Foles, Vick's usual backup, inactive while recovering from a concussion.
Robert Griffin III left Washington's 45-21 loss to Denver late in the game with an injured left knee.
The Redskins quarterback was slammed to the ground by the Broncos' Terrance Knighton, and Griffin's left leg appeared to buckle as Knighton fell on top of him. Griffin grabbed at the knee immediately, but was walking around on the sideline after Kirk Cousins took over for him.
Afterward, Griffin said it was fine.
Miami wide receiver Brandon Gibson and New England offensive tackle Sebastian Vollmer did not return after being injured in the first half of the Patriots' 27-17 win. There was no update on either player.
Gibson caught a touchdown pass, but hurt his left knee later in the first quarter when he went up for a pass by Ryan Tannehill that sailed over his head.
Vollmer was driven off the field on a cart in the second quarter after hurting one of his legs when Miami defensive tackle Randy Starks fell on them.
Detroit defensive end Ziggy Ansah, the team's first-round pick in April, left the Lions' 31-30 win over Dallas with an injured left ankle. Lions wide receiver Ryan Broyles left with an Achilles tendon injury, and cornerback Bill Bentley was sidelined with a knee injury.
Dallas guard Brian Waters also left that game with a triceps injury, and cornerback Morris Claiborne and safety Barry Church went down with hamstring issues.
Cincinnati linebacker Rey Maualuga was taken off the field on a cart in the first half after hurting his left knee and apparently suffering a concussion while trying to make a tackle in the Bengals' 49-9 rout of the New York Jets. Coach Marvin Lewis said Maualuga wasn't seriously injured.
Jacksonville offensive lineman Will Rackley left the Jaguars' 42-10 loss to San Francisco with a head injury. Rackley was hit in the head late in the second quarter of the game at Wembley Stadium.
Kansas City defensive lineman Mike Catapano left Chiefs' 23-17 win over Cleveland with a sprained ankle. Browns wide receiver Travis Benjamin left with a knee injury.
Broncos safety Duke Ihenacho and tight end Julius Thomas left their game against Washington with ankle injuries.
The Steelers lost three offensive linemen to injuries: left guard Ramon Foster (concussion), backup left guard Guy Whimper (left knee), right guard David DeCastro (right ankle).
