Chip Kelly won't name starting QB

TAMPA, Fla. -- Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly left the door open for Nick Foles to start next week's game against the Dallas Cowboys -- even if Michael Vick is healthy.

"We'll evaluate everything," Kelly said after Foles threw for three touchdowns and ran for another in Sunday's 31-20 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. "We'll see where we are, see where Mike is."

Asked specifically if Vick would start if his hamstring injury is completely healed, Kelly would not answer.

"I don't deal in hypotheticals, and I don't make any predictions," Kelly said. "Let's see where [Vick] is."

Vick said he's not going to concern himself with who will start next week.

"That's not something I'm going to worry about," Vick said. "I'm going to worry about getting healthy. We haven't talked about [who's starting]. There's no need to talk about it."

A week ago, however, that question wasn't hypothetical. After Foles came off the bench in a win against the New York Giants, Kelly also was asked if Vick would start if healthy.

"Yes," Kelly said last Sunday.

Foles completed 22-of-31 passes for 296 yards against Tampa Bay. He threw two long touchdown passes -- a 47-yarder to Riley Cooper and a 36-yard strike to DeSean Jackson, who also hauled in a 12-yard score. Foles finished the Eagles' game-opening drive with a 4-yard run on a quarterback draw.

"Our offense doesn't change whether Mike is in there or Nick's in there," Kelly said. "Nick executed that perfectly."

Vick was listed as questionable for the game after taking part in practice during the week. But Foles took the first-team reps, and Kelly said the plan all week was to start Foles. Vick dressed for the game because tight end James Casey, the team's emergency No. 3 quarterback, was inactive with a groin injury.

"We wanted to have three quarterbacks," Kelly said. "Mike could have finished the game for us. He wouldn't have been 100 percent, but he could have finished the game."

Rookie Matt Barkley was active for the first time this season. Kelly was asked if Barkley would have gone in before Vick if Foles was injured.

"It depends on the situation in the game," Kelly said.

Vick said he thought the Eagles "got to go with the momentum," but said he hoped to be healthy and start next Sunday against Dallas.

"I don't worry about it," Foles said. "I'm really proud of my team for winning right now. It was a hard-fought game. I'm going to enjoy it with my teammates.

"No matter what happens, I'm going to stay the same person. Mike was tremendous [today]. He and Matt were right there supporting me."
