Haloti Ngata's injury not serious

NFL, Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Haloti Ngata reportedly suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament in Super Bowl XLVII, but coach John Harbaugh said the injury is not considered to be serious and Ngata should be ready for training camp this summer.

NFL.com reported Friday that Ngata, injured in the third quarter of the Ravens' 34-31 triumph over the San Francisco 49ers when Alex Boone hit him on Frank Gore's 6-yard touchdown run, suffered a sprained MCL. The injury, according to the report, will not require surgery.

Harbaugh said Ngata, who underwent an MRI on Thursday, didn't suffer any major damage.

"Nothing serious with Haloti," Harbaugh said Thursday. "There are some things in there we'll just have to see. It won't be anything that should keep him out of training camp or anything like that."
