Jermichael Finley discusses future

Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel he believes it's a "50/50" chance that he remains with the club next season.

The Packers have a decision to make about the talented Finley, who is due a $3 million roster bonus in March. If the Packers trade or release Finley, they would save $8.25 million.

"It's the nature of the business," Finley told the newspaper. "If there's a guy that's overpaid or that they think is overpaid, they'll ask for a pay cut. There's no doubt that I want to be there for life. But it's a business and the business will tell you otherwise. I would say on the business front, it's 50/50. But if it was up to me or anybody in my circle, I would love to be back."

If he's not released, Finley could sign a more cap friendly multiyear extension, according to the newspaper. At his season-ending news conference, Packers coach Mike McCarthy indicated that he would like to see Finley return.

Finley, 25, had a bit of a disappointing season in 2012, catching 61 passes for 667 yards and two touchdowns. He has 64 receptions for 2,485 yards and 17 TDs in three seasons.
