Sources: Haloti Ngata to have MRI

Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Haloti Ngata will undergo an MRI on his injured left knee Thursday, according to sources.

Ngata was injured in the third quarter of the Ravens' 34-31 triumph over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII on Sunday.

An integral part of the Ravens' defensive line, the 6-foot-4, 340-pound Ngata was hurt on Frank Gore's 6-yard touchdown run when Niners guard Alex Boone fell into his leg.

NFL.com reported that Ngata said after the game that he was unsure whether he tore any ligaments.

Information from ESPN's Josina Anderson was used in this report.
