Report: Michael Vick won't tweak deal

NFL, Philadelphia Eagles

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick is not willing to restructure his contract to remain with the team, according to a report by the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The Inquirer, citing a league source, reports Vick is not open to restructuring his deal, which calls for him to make $15.5 million in base salary next season.

According to the report, if the Eagles release Vick by Feb. 6, they won't have to pay him the guaranteed $3 million in his deal.

If Philadelphia does keep Vick, its option includes re-working his contract or trading him.

Vick will start Sunday for the injured Nick Foles, marking his first game action since suffering a concussion during a loss to the Cowboys on Nov. 11. He had been cleared to return, but Foles has led the Eagles since Vick was injured.

Vick, 32, has 2,165 passing yards, 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions this season, his fourth with the Eagles.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.
