Is Calvin Johnson NFL's LeBron?

NFL, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions

Chicago Bears Pro Bowl cornerback Charles Tillman said Calvin Johnson is "the LeBron James of football," and he's not sure how the Bears are going to contain the Detroit Lions receiver as effectively as the last time the teams played.

Johnson was held to three catches for 34 yards -- both season lows -- in a 13-7 Bears win on Oct. 22 in Soldier Field. The Bears need a win Sunday in Ford Field and a Green Bay Packers win over the Minnesota Vikings to secure a playoff spot.

"He can do everything," Tillman told the Chicago Tribune. "He's the LeBron James of football. If you could create a player -- that's Calvin Johnson. Size, speed, hands, agility, quickness, strength."

The 6-foot-5, 236-pound Johnson holds the single-season record for receiving yards with 1,892. When asked if there was a way the Bears could shut him down again, Tillman -- who was the primary defender on Johnson the last time -- told the Tribune: "It would be cool if we did, but I don't know how."

Despite Johnson's brilliance, the Lions have managed just four wins and have nothing to play for except keeping a rival out of the playoffs and enhancing Johnson's record.

"Personal records are great and we certainly celebrate the season Calvin that has had, but it hasn't translated to enough wins," Lions coach Jim Schwartz said. "We need more help around him."
