Source: Bills, Kraig Urbik reach deal

NFL, Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills are struggling on the field. But that hasn't stopped the team from getting an early start on its 2013 free-agent class.

Buffalo agreed to a four-year, $15 million extension with guard Kraig Urbik, a source told ESPN. Urbik, a two-year starter for the Bills, was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in March. He is one of the anchors behind Buffalo's offensive line that paved the way for tailback C.J. Spiller to record his first 1,000-yard season.

Urbik's versatility also has been an asset for Buffalo. The 27-year-old can play both guard positions, as well as center, if needed.

Urbik was one of several important, pending free agents for the Bills. Starting safety Jairus Byrd and guard Andy Levitre also are entering the final two games of their contracts.

The Bills (5-9) will travel to play the Miami Dolphins (6-8) on Sunday.
