Ndamukong Suh: 'Film never lies'

NFL

Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh on Wednesday responded to accusations he celebrated an Indianapolis Colts player's concussion last Sunday, saying he would never revel in another player's injury.

Colts offensive lineman Mike McGlynn had alleged that Suh and some of his teammates were laughing at and pointing at Winston Justice after Suh knocked him down on a block after an interception. The NFL has determined that Suh's block was legal and will not discipline the defensive tackle.

"Since Sunday there's been tremendous accusations, a lot of things said about me and the particular play that happened between me and Winston Justice," he told reporters. "I am the type of person that would never celebrate anybody being injured. I was celebrating my team playing well."

There was no penalty called on the play and a league source told ESPN on Tuesday that nothing on video replay indicated any type of violation.

"The film never lies. I know there are a million cameras around me. I am not going to do anything to jeopardize myself or my team, particularly my team. There's just no point in not looking at the film to see what happened (before making an allegation)," Suh said, according to the Detroit News.

Suh said he didn't even realize Justice was hurt when he was celebrating the Lions' interception with his teammates.

Suh was fined $30,000 last week for kicking the Texans' Matt Schaub in the teams' Thanksgiving Day game. Suh has regularly defended himself against accusations that he's a dirty player.

"I feel bad that it's even something I had to deal with, but it is what it is," Suh said, according to the Detroit News. "I've been an easy target for negative things. I understand it's part of my life and I am moving past it."

Suh said he hopes Justice feels better soon.

"I would like to say, though, if he did receive a concussion, I hope he heals up fast and he can get back on the field," he told reporters.

Information from ESPN NFL Insider Ed Werder was used in this report.
