Knowshon Moreno starts vs. Chiefs

Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno started Sunday in Denver's 17-9 victory against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Moreno, 25, had not played since Week 2 against Atlanta and was used sparingly last season.

But the Broncos (8-3) are without injured running back Willis McGahee for the remainder of the regular season, and Denver's other options in the backfield are limited.

A first-round draft selection in 2009, Moreno entered Sunday with just 15 rushing yards on eight carries this season. He ran for 1,726 yards over his first two seasons but appeared in just seven games last year, finishing with 179 yards on 37 carries.

On Sunday, Moreno rushed for 85 yards on 20 carries.
