Buffalo Bills defensive end Chris Kelsay said Friday that doctors evaluating his neck injury determined it does not appear serious, and he still hopes to play Sunday against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. Kelsay left practice early Thursday with a member of the training staff after being injured in a drill and did not return. The final determination on whether Kelsay plays might not occur until game time. "It's not major, but I don't know if he can get ready for this week," Bills coach Chan Gailey said. "We have to wait and see how the treatment goes." A 10-year veteran, Kelsay did not participate in practice Friday. He has two sacks and 14 tackles this season. The 3-5 Bills already are depleted at defensive end in preparing to play the Patriots. The other starting defensive end, Mark Anderson, will miss his fourth game with a left knee injury. The game appears to be a decided mismatch. New England ranks first in the NFL in yards gained and points scored. The Bills' defense is 31st in both yards allowed and points allowed. The Pats are averaging 32.75 points a game; the Bills are allowing 31 a game. New England (5-3) scored 52 in defeating the Bills six weeks ago. Also listed as questionable for the Bills (3-5) are defensive linemen Spencer Johnson, Shawne Merriman and Kyle Williams, guard Kraig Urbik and receiver Stevie Johnson.
