Count New York Jets left tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson as a fan of Tim Tebow.

Ferguson told New York radio station WFAN on Thursday that he originally was surprised the Jets traded for Tebow in March but has since embraced the former Denver Broncos quarterback.

"I think everyone was taken aback at first," Ferguson told WFAN. "Like wow, nobody knew what to expect. But I met with the man, and he's got a good head on his shoulders, and he's real passionate.

"It's going to make a lot of other teams really have to second guess what we'll be doing because we have the advantage of having great quarterbacks, and now we have the opportunity to do what we want with what we have."

Ferguson, though, still expects quarterback Mark Sanchez to lead the offense.

"I think Mark is a great leader. I follow Mark," Ferguson told WFAN. "Any guy who can play that quarterback role has to be strong, and I think he demonstrates a lot of great qualities."

Ferguson added that any perceived conflict of having two quarterbacks such as Sanchez and Tebow on one team is driven from outside the Jets' locker room.

"I think right now we are in a good place," Ferguson said.
