Green Bay Packers safety Nick Collins, who underwent neck fusion surgery last September, is scheduled to talk with the team next week about his career, his agent, Alan Herman, said Tuesday.
"Nick, (co-agent) Dave Butz and I will travel next week to meet with Packers," Herman said in a text. "That is the plan. Decision will be made after that meeting."
Herman said Collins "feels and looks terrific" and the surgery he underwent at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City went "extremely well."
Collins' doctors and the Packers' doctors are scheduled to talk this week before the player visits Green Bay.
"Nick is absorbing the info presented by (his surgeon), which medical privacy laws prevent me from sharing. And then he will talk with (the) Packers and make a decision about his future," Herman said.
The 28-year-old Collins was hurt in Week 2 trying to tackle Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart, who tried to hurdle Collins' tackling attempt. Collins' head collided with Stewart's hip, and his neck bent awkwardly.
Collins had been named to three straight Pro Bowls before last season and has 21 career interceptions.
