Falcons, Tyson Clabo agree to terms

The Atlanta Falcons have agreed to terms with Pro Bowl tackle Tyson Clabo, locking up a cornerstone of their offensive line with a five-year deal.

Clabo can officially sign the $25 million agreement Friday evening. The contract will include about $11.5 million in guaranteed money.

The Falcons also released defensive end Jamaal Anderson and receiver Michael Jenkins.

The Falcons announced the moves Friday, the opening day of training camp. By cutting the former first-round draft picks, the team clears $7.8 million under the salary cap.

The Falcons had all of their draft picks under contract for the first day of training camp, including top choice Julio Jones. The receiver agreed to a four-year, $16.2 million deal late Thursday.

Colts to re-sign Bullitt, Vinatieri

Safety Melvin Bullitt and kicker Adam Vinatieri will be back with the Colts next season.

The Colts confirmed Friday that both players have agreed to new contracts. Details were not released and neither player can sign until later Friday.

The team also announced it has signed 15 undrafted rookies, including running backs Darren Evans and Chad Spann, both of whom played high school football in the Indianapolis area.

Cardinals officially sign Bradley, Colledge, three others

The Arizona Cardinals signed Green Bay guard Daryn Colledge, Philadelphia linebacker Stewart Bradley, Pittsburgh defensive lineman Nick Eason, Carolina tight end Jeff King and Cleveland wide receiver Chansi Stuckey Friday.

Bradley will play inside linebacker for the Cardinals and he might rush the passer on throwing downs, a source told ESPN.com's John Clayton.

Bradley finished third on the Eagles last season with 60 tackles. A four-year veteran, Bradley was drafted by the Eagles in the third round of the 2007 NFL draft.

The Cardinals also re-signed eight of their own free agents, including starting center Lyle Sendlein.

Arizona announced the signing of five draft choices: Texas linebacker Sam Acho (fourth round), Connecticut fullback Anthony Sherman (fifth round), North Carolina linebacker Quan Sturdivant (sixth round), UCLA defensive tackle David Carter (sixth round) and San Diego State wide receiver DeMarco Sampson (seventh round).

Other Arizona free agents to re-sign with the team were safety Hamza Abdullah, cornerback Michael Adams, offensive tackle D'Anthony Batiste, center Ben Claxton, punter Ben Graham and tight end Stephen Spach.

Early Doucet, another candidate for the No. 2 receiving spot, signed a one-year qualifying offer, as did offensive tackle Brandon Keith, who started the first nine games last season before going down for the season with a torn hamstring.

Bills' Cook OK after collapsing during conditioning

Buffalo Bills coach Chan Gailey says cornerback Domonic Cook is expected to be fine after the undrafted rookie collapsed on the field at the end of the team's first conditioning session.

Gailey wouldn't provide details, but ruled out the cause being heat related. It happened Friday after most players had left the field following a 25-minute session at training camp in suburban Rochester.

Cook stayed to work out with a group of defensive backs, when he collapsed along the sideline. After laying flat on his back, the University at Buffalo product appeared woozy as he was helped into a cart and driven off.

Gailey added that cornerback Reggie Corner and reserve offensive lineman Cordaro Howard will open training camp on the physically-unable-to perform list due to undisclosed injuries.

Packers release Tauscher, Barnett, three others

Mark Tauscher, a fixture at right tackle for the better part of a decade for the Green Bay Packers, was among five veteran players released by the team.

Linebackers Nick Barnett, Brandon Chillar and Brady Poppinga and defensive lineman Justin Harrell also were released.

None of the cuts was particularly surprising, given that all five players are coming off season-ending injuries. But the release of both Barnett and Chillar does leave the Packers thin behind starting inside linebackers A.J. Hawk and Desmond Bishop.

The Packers also announced the signing of seven draft picks: second-round Kentucky wide receiver Randall Cobb, fifth-round Arkansas tight end D.J. Williams, sixth-round Utah guard Caleb Schlauderaff, sixth-round Appalachian State linebacker D.J. Smith, sixth-round Arizona outside linebacker Ricky Elmore, seventh-round North Carolina tight end Ryan Taylor and seventh-round Arizona State defensive end Lawrence Guy.

The team signed two more undrafted free agents, Oklahoma State defensive end Chris Donaldson and Temple defensive end Elisha Joseph, and waived first-year safety Michael Greco and first-year linebacker Curtis Young.

Chiefs place Moeaki on PUP list

The Kansas City Chiefs are putting second-year tight end Tony Moeaki on the physically unable to perform list.

Coach Todd Haley declined to say what Moeaki's problem was. He seemed fine when speaking briefly with the media as players moved into their training camp dorm rooms Thursday in St. Joseph, Mo.

As a rookie last season, Moeaki caught 47 passes for 556 yards and three touchdowns, including a spectacular one-handed scoring grab against San Francisco. If he is on the PUP list when the season opens, he will have to stay there for another six weeks. During the preseason, he can be reinstated any time.

The Chiefs signed first-round pick Jonathan Baldwin on Friday morning, then capped a busy day by agreeing to terms with eight unrestricted free agents, including Arizona wide receiver Steve Breaston and their own veteran center Casey Wiegmann.

The other players signed were all Chiefs last season: running back Jackie Battle, wide receiver Terrance Copper, cornerback Travis Daniels, safety Jon McGraw, tackle Ryan O'Callaghan and tight end Leonard Pope. The Chiefs also announced that fullback Mike Cox had signed his restricted free agent tender and defensive back Reshard Langford signed his exclusive rights free agent tender.

Baldwin signed a four-year deal with the option for a fifth.

The Chiefs also and released tight end Brad Cottam.

Source: Cowboys to re-sign Spears

The Dallas Cowboys reached agreement with Marcus Spears on a five-year, $19.2 million deal, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Spears has 185 tackles and eight sacks in six seasons with the Cowboys.

Bucs, Koenen agree to deal

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have agreed to terms on a contract with former Atlanta punter Michael Koenen.

The deal is worth $19.5 million, with 6.5 million guaranteed, over six years, a source told Schefter.

Tampa Bay coach Raheem Morris confirmed the deal after the Bucs' first training camp workout Friday, a 90-minute walkthrough session.

Koenen was a restricted free agent. The 29-year-old Koenen averaged 40.7 yards on 74 punts last season, his sixth with Atlanta.

The Bucs also announced the signing of linebacker Quincy Black, and reached deals to re-sign free agent guard Davin Joseph and tackle Jeremy Trueblood.

Source: Bengals reach agreement with Lutui

The Cincinnati Bengals have reached an agreement with Cardinals guard Deuce Lutui, a source told Clayton.

Terms of the deal weren't available.

The Bengals released defensive end Antwan Odom and waived offensive tackle Andrew Mitchell and cornerback Morgan Trent Friday.

The Bengals also placed quarterback Carson Palmer on the reserve/did not report list, and cornerback Adam Jones and defensive tackle Pat Sims on the physically unable to perform list.

The Bengals reached agreement with quarterback Andy Dalton on a four-year, $5.2 million deal, sources told Schefter.

Cincinnati also reached a two-year agreement to keep running back Brian Leonard, a source told Clayton.

Terms of the deal were not available. Leonard is the first Bengals free agent to re-sign.

Reports: Dolphins release Crowder, agree with Thomas

A person familiar with the decision says veteran linebacker Channing Crowder has been cut by the Miami Dolphins.

The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Friday because the Dolphins hadn't announced the move.

Crowder had been a starter for Miami since his rookie season in 2005, but he drew criticism for failing to make more big plays. In the past three seasons he had a total of one fumble forced, one fumble recovered, one interception and one sack. Crowder had 33 tackles in 11 games last season.

A person familiar with the negotiations says rookie running back Daniel Thomas has signed a four-year contract with the Dolphins.

Thomas missed the first practice of training camp but is expected to be on the field Saturday.

Three picks signed in time to take part in the first workout Friday -- fullback-tight end Charles Clay, cornerback Jimmy Wilson and defensive tackle Frank Kearse.

Raiders agree with Gaither, Moss

The Oakland Raiders have agreed to terms on a contract with free agent offensive lineman Jared Gaither.

The team announced the deal Friday just after the start of the free agency period.

Gaither missed last season with a back injury for Baltimore. But he gives the Raiders a proven veteran at a position of need in offensive tackle.

The Raiders also announced deals with linebacker Jarvis Moss and long snapper Jon Condo.

Giants, Weatherford agree on deal

Intent on upgrading their special teams, the New York Giants have agreed with former New York Jets punter Steve Weatherford.

Weatherford and his agents tweeted that he has agreed to join the Giants to compete with punter Matt Dodge.

Weatherford punted for 3,581 yards last season and had a net average of 38.1 on 84 punts. Dodge had a very inconsistent season, punting for 3,222 yards and a net average of 34.3 yards on 72 punts. The Giants allowed a league-high two punt returns for touchdowns last season, including the unforgettable DeSean Jackson touchdown in the Giants collapse to the Eagles last season.

Seahawks, first-round pick Carpenter agree

The Seattle Seahawks have reached a deal with first-round pick James Carpenter, who was taken 25th overall in the April draft.

The team announced Carpenter's deal Friday morning. They also announced having agreed to terms with linebacker Leroy Hill, bringing Hill back for a seventh season with the Seahawks. Hill missed most of last season with an Achilles' injury.

Seattle also confirmed its big free agent splashes -- quarterback Tarvaris Jackson, offensive lineman Robert Gallery, defensive lineman Alan Branch and wide receiver Sidney Rice -- and locked up all its draft picks when first-round selection James Carpenter and third-round pick John Moffitt signed their contracts on Friday.

Seattle announced it has released offensive linemen Stacy Andrews and Chris White, defensive tackle Barrett Moen, linebacker Joe Pawelek and defensive back James Brindley.

Jaguars agree with Landry, Coleman

The Jacksonville Jaguars and safety Dawan Landry agreed on a five-year contract Friday.

The Jaguars also added another defender, agreeing to a three-year contract with free agent cornerback Drew Coleman.

Landry, who spent the last five years in Baltimore, is expected to sign a contract Saturday and would be eligible to practice when the new collective bargaining agreement is ratified. Landry accumulated 362 tackles, nine interceptions and five sacks with the Ravens. He missed most of the 2008 season with a neck injury.

The deal reached Friday with Coleman could be worth as much as $7.4 million and gives the Jaguars their fourth defensive addition of the week. Coleman mostly played nickel back the last six years with the Jets and should have the same role in Jacksonville.

The Jaguars have given up on former first-round draft pick Derrick Harvey, releasing the defensive end after three disappointing seasons.

The Jaguars also cut starting guard Vince Manuwai, who showed up at training camp injured, out of shape and overweight. The team also parted ways with defensive back Tyron Brackenridge and rookie quarterback Scott Riddle.

Rams, ex-Falcon Dahl agree to deal

The St. Louis Rams have solidified their offensive line, agreeing to terms with free agent Harvey Dahl.

The 30-year-old Dahl helped the Atlanta Falcons make the playoffs last year, starting all 16 games, and made 43 starts the last three seasons.

Dahl replaces Adam Goldberg, who started all 16 games last season. Before 2010, Goldberg had been a utlity lineman and he played at four spots in 2009.

St. Louis agreed to terms on a one-year contract with 245-pound outside linebacker Zac Diles, who made 10 starts last year for the Texans.

The Rams also signed veteran free agent safety Quintin Mikell, who spent the last eight season with the Eagles.

Tight end Lance Kendricks, a second-round pick this year, also agreed to terms. That left only first-rounder Robert Quinn, a defensive end who changed agents recently, unsigned among the team's eight selections.

The Rams also signed four of their restricted free agents -- linebacker David Vobora, guard John Greco, offensive tackle Renardo Foster and linebacker Chris Chamberlain. Wide receiver Danny Amendola and defensive end C.J. Ah You, both exclusive rights free agents, signed tenders.

The Rams will also released offensive lineman Jacob Bell Saturday after he turned down an offer to restructure his $6 million base salary for this season, a source told Schefter.

49ers RB Gore doesn't show up to training camp

Running back Frank Gore is a no-show for the first day of San Francisco 49ers training camp, apparently fulfilling his plan to hold out for a new contract.

The two-time Pro Bowler, in the final year of his current deal, has been deemed healthy by his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, who didn't respond to phone messages or email inquiries Friday. Gore went down with a season-ending fractured hip in a Monday night game at Arizona last Nov. 29 but has recovered.

The 49ers have parted ways with veteran center Eric Heitmann and kicker Joe Nedney after they failed physicals.

The 31-year-old Heitmann was placed on season-ending injured reserve last November in his ninth NFL season because of a neck injury that wasn't healing as quickly as the Niners had hoped. Adam Snyder is slated to move into the center position to fill the void left by Heitmann.

Nedney will be replaced by five-time Pro Bowl kicker David Akers, who agreed to a deal Thursday.

Alex Smith signed his one-year free agent contract as expected.

Defensive tackle Ray McDonald signed a five-year contract and guard-center Tony Wragge received a one-year contract.

Saints re-sign Harper for $25 million

The New Orleans Saints re-signed safety Roman Harper to a four-year deal worth $25 million, including $16 million guaranteed. Harper made 98 tackles, forced six fumbles and had three sacks and an interception last season. He was an injury replacement in the Pro Bowl.

ESPN.com originally reported the deal was worth $28.5 million.

Coach Sean Payton says New Orleans has released cornerback and former LSU standout Randall Gay, as well as long snapper Jason Kyle and 2009 fourth-round draft choice Stanley Arnoux.

Arnoux, a linebacker, has been plagued by injuries and failed his physical. Payton says Kyle also failed a physical and was terminated.

The cuts rid the Saints of about $5 million in salary. Payton says the Saints have agreed to a deal with free-agent linebacker Danny Clark.

General manager Mickey Loomis says the Saints have reached deals with free agents Pierson Prioleau, Korey Hall, Curtis Johnson and Louisiana native Dan Gay.

Prioleau, a safety in his 13th season, has been with New Orleans since 2009 and has led the club in special teams tackles the past two seasons with 21 each.

Agent: Titans agree with DL Smith

Shaun Smith says the defensive lineman has agreed to terms with Tennessee, agent Neil Schwartz told The Associated Press.

Smith, an eight-year veteran, spent last season with the Chiefs and had 56 tackles and one sack with 10 starts. He has 208 tackles and three sacks in 79 career games.

Smith was fined $10,000 in September for grabbing San Francisco offensive lineman Anthony Davis in the groin area.

Jets release Brunell, waive two others

The New York Jets have released 40-year-old backup quarterback Mark Brunell and waived cornerback Will Billingsley and guard Marlon Davis.

The moves came as the Jets were in intense negotiations to try to reach an agreement with free-agent cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha. Several other teams are interested in the player considered to be this year's top free agent.

The Jets also cut backup quarterback Kevin O'Connell, another person with knowledge of the situation told the AP. That person also spoke on condition of anonymity because the team hadn't announced the move.

O'Connell spent last season on injured reserve after injuring his throwing shoulder. Drew Willy and seventh-round pick Greg McElroy, who agreed to a deal Friday, are the other quarterbacks on the roster.

Source: Panthers agree with S Wilson

The Carolina Panthers reached agreement on a one-year deal with safety C.J. Wilson, a source told Clayton.

Wilson tallied 13 tackles last season, his fourth with the Panthers.

Broncos escape injury scares to Miller, Carter

Linebacker Von Miller, the second overall pick in the draft, left practice early with a bruised right thigh Friday, just 24 hours after signing a four-year, $21 million deal.

Miller went down about halfway through the workout and trainers spent more than 10 minutes stretching his right leg and hip before he hobbled back to the sideline and then limped off the field into the team's training facility.

"It was just a bruise; it's not a pull or anything like that," coach John Fox said. "We'll evaluate, and when he's ready, put him back out there."

Less than a half hour later, safety Quinton Carter, a fourth-round pick from Oklahoma, was carted off the field suffering from heat stress. Fox said Carter would be OK.

The Broncos also signed their last rookie holdout, third-round pick Nate Irving of North Carolina State, who will compete for the Broncos' middle linebacker spot. He joined his teammates about 45 minutes into the workout after signing his contract with just a half-week's worth of playbook study.

Lions announce multiple roster moves

The Detroit Lions have agreed to terms with free agent defensive back Eric Wright.

Wright, who has played all four of his NFL seasons with Cleveland, has agreed to leave the Browns and join the Lions, Detroit confirmed Friday.

The Lions signed free agents Justin Durant, Rashied Davis, Maurice Leggett and Quinn Pitcock. Durant, a linebacker, played four seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Davis, a wide receiver, played six years for the Chicago Bears.

Detroit also signed several of its own free agents Friday, including center Dylan Gandy, kicker Dave Rayner, quarterback Drew Stanton, safety John Wendling, fullback Jerome Felton and defensive tackle Andre Fluellen.

The Lions released linebacker Jordon Dizon and wide receiver Bryant Johnson and signed the following exclusive rights players: linebacker Korey Bosworth, linebacker Caleb Campbell, offensive tackle Corey Hilliard, wide receiver Stefan Logan, cornerback Prince Miller, linebacker Ashlee Palmer, safety Randy Phillips and cornerback Paul Pratt.
