Chicago Commodores

There is simply no stopping the Vanderbilt pipeline. In addition to draftee D.J. Moore, the Bears are bringing another Commodore to this week's rookie mini-camp: wide receiver George Smith.

Agent Everett Glenn, who in the past represented such Bears' stars as Willie Gault and Richard Dent, says Smith has accepted an invitation to come to Chicago on a try-out basis.

Smith was considered a draftable player heading into his senior season, but a foot injury coupled with a non-football medical condition effected his stock. Glenn says Smith is completely healthy.

"He caught balls from [Jay] Cutler down there, so there is familiarity," Glenn said. " I think the Bears will see a very polished receiver on the field this weekend."
