The Bears' fourth-round pick (No. 105) Henry Melton does not lack in the confidence department. "I'm just really excited. It was a great selection because [the Bears] just got a great player," Melton told the media at Halas Hall via conference call. Other highlights from the Melton conversation: On being switched by Texas coaches from running back to defensive end: "I wanted to be on the field. I wanted to be in a position where I could succeed more and help my team more, so I made the switch. It was pretty rough at first, but it all worked out for me." Is he raw as a player? "Yes. I started one year at defensive end and when I was playing this year I felt like I started off slow. Then I grew into the position and get a lot better as the season went along." On his 2007 DWI arrest: "As soon as you meet somebody you know if they come off as a trouble maker or we have to watch this person. I really don't come off like that. I made a bad decision early in college (leading into junior year) but I just wanted to put all that behind me and move on." On his confidence: "I just feel like I have a lot work to do, but I can come in and contribute. I just want to work hard, just going to try and find a spot somewhere."
