Pat White pick a nod to Wildcat offense

The Wildcat offense just took the next step, as the Miami Dolphins used the 44th pick in the draft to take West Virginia quarterback Pat White. (Incidentally, this is the pick that the Dolphins got for Jason Taylor last year.) Now, White wants to be a quarterback. He's never really run routes, and didn't show any inclination to do so during the combine or during WVU's pro day. White can throw, but his issues under center include a long throwing motion and a lack of height. I do have real doubts about whether he could ever be a starting quarterback in the NFL. But in 2009, White will be a slash type of player, a Wildcat freak who can throw it way downfield, get around the corner, and basically make life miserable for opposing defenses. He probably won't play enough right away to be a fantasy force this season. But man, he's going to be fun to watch.
