Donald Brown a good fit for Colts

I thought the Colts would take a running back, I really did. I just thought they were going to take Beanie Wells. Instead, with the 27th pick in the first round, they took UConn rusher Donald Brown. Brown instantly becomes a favorite to play the Dominic Rhodes role in the Indianapolis offense, which makes him relevant in fantasy leagues. If Joseph Addai has proven one thing in his career, it's that he's not a 300-carry back, and this selection indicates that the Colts agree, and learned their lesson from 2008. We can kiss the days of considering Addai a fantasy first-rounder goodbye. So what do we make of Brown? He's a good all-around back. Not a great one: he's not fast, he's not a great blocker, he's not a pure acceleration guy. But he can do all these things pretty well, and he's a smart player who fits what the Colts do. And he finds himself in a very nice fantasy situation, on an offense that should once again be potent. If this pick had been Wells, it might've been more exciting for fantasy players, because he'd have been a burly touchdown-making compatriot for Addai. But actually, I had Brown rated higher overall than Wells, so I think this pick is just fine.
