Darrius Heyward-Bey risky pick for Raiders, fantasy

Here's your first insane pick, and what a surprise, it comes from the Oakland Raiders. The Raiders bypassed Michael Crabtree (who looks almost manic in the green room) to take University of Maryland wideout Darrius Heyward-Bey. DHB was the fastest guy at the NFL draft combine, which made him a natural for the speed-obsessed Raiders. However, he's got inconsistent hands and hasn't really ever performed on a big stage. I hate to say it, but I have to: DHB has bust potential written all over him. He's a classic workout warrior whose production has never come close to matching his skills. Does that make him an instant washout? Obviously the Raiders don't think so. But I can't see how you pass up Crabtree for DHB. On the fantasy side of things, DHB will probably be a starter for the Raiders, catching inaccurate missiles from JaMarcus Russell. But he's doubtful to be a positive fantasy factor this year. Rookie receivers already start with an albatross around their necks, fantasy-wise, and DHB has a lot of adjusting to do.
