Jets to make camp at SUNY Cortland

CORTLAND, N.Y. -- The New York Jets are moving most of this summer's training camp to SUNY Cortland in upstate New York.

The Jets also are planning some public sessions at their New Jersey center and former preseason home on Long Island.

Jets owner Woody Johnson said Monday the team will begin the training season June 6 with five minicamp practices open to the public at its center in Florham Park, N.J., and then open camp in Cortland on July 31.

State University of New York officials had been negotiating with the Jets to host the camp after the team said new coach Rex Ryan wanted to make a move. The team also considered Cornell University, Utica College and Marist College in Poughkeepsie.
