Examining the Seahawks' draft profile

Here is a look at the factors that will come into play in the Seattle Seahawks draft room:

Decision Makers
This is an efficient front office run by veteran president of football operations and general manager Tim Ruskell. However, there is a new coaching staff and Mike Holmgren isn't around, so the spotlight is now on Ruskell alone to get this team turned around. He is a solid football man and his lack of a big ego allows him to listen well to those around him. He has three experienced and trusted aides who give quality input on personnel decisions in vice president of player personnel Ruston Webster, director of pro personnel Will Lewis and vice president of football administration John Idzik. New head coach Jim Mora and his staff will have moderate input, but the final decision will come from the front office and not the coaches. They have a solid information-gathering scouting staff and they usually draft with a best-athlete-available philosophy, rather than drafting by specific need.
