Examining the Rams' draft profile

Here is a look at the factors that will come into play in the St. Louis Rams draft room:

Decision Makers
This front office is a work in progress, but it has potential to turn into a very solid group after a long tenure by the old front office leaders, Jay Zygmont and Jon Shaw. Veteran Billy Devaney has all the power as the general manager and he is a guy that welcomes a lot of opinions to get to a consensus decision. Vice president of player personnel Tony Softli puts the draft board together, works well with Devaney and the final voice is probably theirs. However, Devaney wants his coaches involved in personnel decisions and he wants head coach Steve Spagnuolo's input. It is also very clear that the Rams' front office is committed to avoiding players with character issues. Veteran director of player personnel Lawrence McCutcheon is also a trusted aide and Kevin Demoff, who was recently hired to do contracts, is a guy who will become more powerful each year.
