Fairleigh Dickinson 71, Mount St. Mary's Md., 68

EMMITSBURG, Md. -- Led by Andre Harris' 22 points and 10
rebounds, Fairleigh Dickinson defeated Mount St. Mary's, Md., 71-68
on Saturday.

Michael Peeples added 11 points for the Knights (5-3, 2-0
Northeast Conference), who held the Mountaineers (1-6, 0-1) to 37.7
percent shooting.

Mychal Kearse had 15 points and 14 rebounds to lead the
Mountaineers. Chris Vann and Charles Cook each added 12 points for
the Mount.

Fairleigh Dickinson led 38-37 at halftime and had an eight-point
lead with 5:37 left in the game.

But the Mount rallied to close the gap to 69-68 when Joey Butler
scored from the paint with 41 seconds remaining.

On the Knights' next possession, Cameron Tyler missed a layup
and Kearse grabbed the rebound. With a chance to take the lead,
Kearse missed an eight-foot jumper in the lane with eight seconds
left.

Tyler got the rebound and was fouled with seven seconds
remaining. He made the first shot and missed the second but quickly
regained possession of the ball. He was fouled again and made one
more free throw to seal the win.
