Brown 70, Hartford 60

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) -- Damon Huffman scored 16 points and
freshman Scott Friske added a career high 12 points to lead Brown
University to a 70-60 win over the University of Hartford on
Wednesday.

The Bears connected on 29 of 30 shots from the free throw line.
Huffman scored 12 of his 16 points, and Friske netted 10 of his 12
points.

After the first 10 minutes, Brown held its biggest lead when
Chris Skrelja's layup made it 21-5.

Hartford responded with 16 unanswered points over the next five
minutes to tie the game at 21-21. David Ruffin had five points
during the stretch.

After trading baskets, Hartford took its only lead of the game,
27-25, on a layup by Kenny Adeleke with less than three minutes in
the half.

The Bears led for the entire second half, leading by as many as
13 points, 54-41 on a lay-up by James Daniels.

Hartford pulled to within two points of the Bears, 60-58, on a
jump shot by Ruffian with 6:32 left to play. Huffman answered by
connecting on two free throws with 4:48 remaining, and the Bears
were never challenged for the remainder of the game.
