Stephon Gilmore says he'll be at Bills camp

NFL, Buffalo Bills

Buffalo Bills cornerback Stephon Gilmore intends to report to training camp and play out the final season of his rookie contract.

"I'm planning to go out to training camp," Gilmore told ESPN NFL Insider Josina Anderson on Monday. "I know what I am. [A new contract will] happen eventually."

Gilmore, the 10th overall pick in the 2012 draft, had sparked speculation that he could hold out when he said in June, "We'll see," when asked if he would show up to camp on time. Bills veterans report Friday to St. John Fisher College in Pittsford, New York, and the first practice is Saturday.

The Bills picked up Gilmore's $11.082 million, fifth-year option for this season and have expressed interest in reaching a long-term extension with him. Gilmore, the ninth-ranked cornerback last season by Pro Football Focus, is expected to be seeking a deal in the range of the five-year, $75 million pact that cornerback Josh Norman signed with the Washington Redskins this spring.

Gilmore stayed away from the Bills' facility during organized team activities in May as he rehabbed a shoulder injury that kept him out of the final four games last season. He later reported to mandatory minicamp in June, tweeting, "I'm just here so I won't get fined."
