Roger Goodell made $32 million in compensation for 2015

The NFL paid commissioner Roger Goodell nearly $32 million in fiscal year 2015.

Sports Business Daily first reported Goodell's salary details, citing the league's 2015 tax filing.

Goodell's pay is down slightly from fiscal year 2014, when he made $34.1 million. That included base salary and bonuses as well as pension and other deferred payments.

In the 10 years in which his commissioner salary has been disclosed, Goodell has made an average of $21.5 million a year and a total of $212.5 million. He became NFL commissioner in 2006.

The 2015 filing is the last the league will have to disclose because it has relinquished its tax-exempt status. The league announced last year that the nonprofit status of the central league office had become a distraction. That status is what required the league to make Goodell's compensation public.

The NFL's next-highest paid executive was general counsel Jeff Pash at $6.5 million. His salary dropped from $7.5 million in 2014.
