INDIANAPOLIS -- Andrew Luck is like owner Jim Irsay and general manager Ryan Grigson when it comes to his contract situation. The Indianapolis Colts quarterback believes his extension with the team will get done. Luck also isn't letting his lingering contract situation consume him. "As far as the importance of getting it done or not, if it happens [before training camp], great," he said Thursday. "If it doesn't happen [before training camp], great too. I know I'm a Colt and I'm going to do the best job I can for this team, no matter what the situation is. So it doesn't weigh on me." Irsay said Wednesday that he would be "surprised" if the Colts did not agree to a long-term contract extension with Luck, who has a chance to become the highest-paid player in the NFL, before the team reports to training camp in late July. "We have a great relationship and I see something getting done," Irsay said. "It's not easy. It's obviously going to be a big number, and we want to make sure the contract is something that's Colt-friendly as we approach even the next decade." Luck, 26, missed nine games last season with injuries. He threw an NFL-leading 40 touchdown passes in 2014. The Colts wrapped up their mandatory three-day minicamp Thursday. The next time they'll be together officially is for training camp at Anderson (Indiana) University.
