EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul recorded his first sack of the season Sunday in his sixth game back with the New York Giants since the July 4 fireworks accident that cost him his right index finger. The sack came in the second quarter of the Giants' 38-35 loss to the Carolina Panthers. Pierre-Paul took down Cam Newton on a play when the coverage downfield forced the Carolina quarterback to hold the ball longer than he wanted to. Pierre-Paul got up from the sack and mimicked Newton's "dab" touchdown dance and Newton's "Superman" touchdown celebration. Earlier in the game, Pierre-Paul, who has been playing with a heavy club wrap on his damaged hand since his return, missed a tackle on Newton on a 47-yard run. The sack earned Pierre-Paul a cool $100,000 incentive bonus. He's already earned more than $2 million in playing time and active roster bonus incentives on top of his $1.5 million guaranteed salary. To max out his $7.21 million incentive package, Pierre-Paul needs to play at least 80 percent of the team's defensive snaps in two more games (counting the current one) and get 7.5 sacks, or simply get 10 sacks.
