-Drew Brees, Saints, was 31 for 41 for 312 yards and two touchdowns as New Orleans won 24-17 at Tampa Bay.

-Blake Bortles, Jaguars, was 16 for 30 for 250 yards and accounted for four TDs as Jacksonville rallied past Indianapolis for a 51-16 win.

-Jay Cutler, Bears, was 19 of 31 for 315 yards and two touchdowns in Chicago's 24-21 loss to Washington.

-Ryan Fitzpatrick, Jets, passed for 263 yards and three TDs as New York beat Tennessee 30-8 for its third straight win.

-Andre Branch, Jaguars, had two sacks and returned a fumble 49 yards for a touchdown in Jacksonville's 51-16 victory over Indianapolis.

-Armonty Bryant and Nate Orchard, Browns, had two sacks apiece in Cleveland's 24-10 win against San Francisco.

-William Gay, Steelers, returned an interception 23 yards for a touchdown in Pittsburgh's 33-20 victory at Cincinnati.

-Akiem Hicks and Jabaal Sheard, Patriots, each had two sacks, and Sheard forced two fumbles in a 27-6 win over Houston.

-Jadeveon Clowney, Texans, had two sacks for his first multiple sack game as a pro in a 27-6 loss to New England.

SUPER PANTHERS

Cam Newton passed for three touchdowns as Carolina routed Atlanta to improve to 13-0 for the first time in franchise history. The Panthers also clinched a first-round bye in the playoffs. Coming into this year, seven teams had started a season with 13 straight victories; five of those teams made it to the Super Bowl, and three won it all.

ON TOP AND IN

Tom Brady took advantage of Rob Gronkowski's return from injury by passing for 226 yards and two touchdowns to help New England clinch a playoff spot. Gronkowski caught one of those TD passes, and the Patriots jumped ahead of the Denver Broncos and Cincinnati Bengals for the top seed in the AFC playoff race.

SUPER WILSON

Russell Wilson tossed five touchdowns passes in Seattle's 35-6 win at Baltimore. It was Wilson's fourth consecutive game with at least three TD passes and no interceptions, matching Tom Brady (2007), Peyton Manning (2013-14) and Aaron Rodgers (2014) for the longest such streak in NFL history.

FEEL THE BREES

New Orleans star Drew Brees threw for 312 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Saints to a 24-17 win at Tampa Bay. It was Brees' 93rd 300-yard passing game, matching Peyton Manning for the most in NFL history. Brees also moved past Dan Marino for fourth on the NFL list with 421 career touchdown passes.

SACKED

It was a rough day for quarterbacks, with four players recording three or more sacks on the same day for the first time since Week 14 of the 2011 season, according to STATS. Khalil Mack led the way with five sacks for Oakland, and Dee Ford of Kansas City, Muhammad Wilkerson of the Jets and Aaron Donald of the Rams each had three. On Dec. 11, 2011, Jared Allen, Jason Babin, Trent Cole and Terrell Suggs each had three sacks.

STREAKS

Pittsburgh wide receiver Antonio Brown became the sixth player in NFL history with at least three straight seasons with 100 or more receptions. He had seven grabs for 87 yards in a 33-20 victory at Cincinnati. ... Kansas City quarterback Alex Smith threw his first interception in his last 10 games. His streak of 312 attempts without a pick was the second longest in NFL history.

Cincinnati quarterback Andy Dalton broke his right thumb during the first quarter of a 33-20 loss to Pittsburgh. He will see a specialist on Monday to get a better idea of the treatment options. The Bengals also lost tight end Tyler Eifert, who was shaken up on the second series and ruled out after being evaluated for a concussion. ... Seattle running back Thomas Rawls broke his left ankle in the first quarter and is out for the season. ... Carolina cornerback Bene Benwikere is likely out for the season after breaking his left leg in the fourth quarter of a 38-0 win against Atlanta. ... Cleveland receiver Brian Hartline is out for the season after breaking a collarbone in a 24-10 win over San Francisco. He had eight catches for 107 yards when he got hurt. ... Jets rookie wide receiver Devin Smith was knocked out by a right leg injury in the third quarter of a 30-8 win over Tennessee. ... Indianapolis quarterback Matt Hasselbeck left a 51-16 loss to Jacksonville with a rib injury. There was no update on his condition after the game. ... Green Bay cornerback Sam Shields left in the second quarter of a 28-7 victory against Dallas with a concussion. ... Houston quarterback Brian Hoyer left in the fourth quarter and was evaluated for a concussion during a 27-6 loss to New England. Coach Bill O'Brien said it looked like Hoyer had a concussion. The quarterback has already missed one game for a concussion this season. ... New England running back LeGarrette Blount left in the second quarter of a 27-6 win over Houston with a hip injury and did not return.
