That marks the fourth time in NFL history there have been multiple 9-0 teams in a season, including 1934, 1990 and 2009. Carolina defeated Tennessee 27-10 and New England edged the New York Giants 27-26. Cincinnati hosts Houston on Monday night and could give the NFL its most 9-0 teams in a single season. Entering this year, 19 teams started a season 9-0 during the Super Bowl era -- and all of them made the playoffs, 11 advanced to the Super Bowl and seven won it. --- STREAKS & STATS Jacksonville had lost 13 in a row on the road since winning at Cleveland on Dec. 1, 2013, ending its skid with a 22-20 victory at Baltimore. ... Cam Newton completed his first 11 passes -- the longest streak of his career -- in undefeated Carolina's 27-10 win over Tennessee. The Panthers also extended their regular-season winning streak to 13 games. ... The Titans lost their 10th straight at home in their first home game under interim coach Mike Mularkey. ... Detroit stopped a 24-game road losing streak against Green Bay with an 18-16 victory. The Lions hadn't defeated the Packers on the road since a 21-17 victory on Dec. 15, 1991. ... Tampa Bay won for the first time since 2005 when scoring 10 points or fewer with a 10-6 win over Dallas. ... The Cowboys have lost seven in a row without injured quarterback Tony Romo, the team's longest skid since 1989. Five of those losses have been by a touchdown or less. ... Jacksonville's Allen Hurns extended his franchise record for consecutive games with a touchdown catch to seven. ... Washington's 47-14 win over New Orleans was its largest margin of victory since beating San Francisco 52-17 in 2005. ... Denver lost to Kansas City 29-13, ending its nine-game AFC West winning streak with its first loss to the Chiefs (4-5) since Tim Tebow was the Broncos' quarterback in 2011. --- BAD MANNING Peyton Manning broke Brett Favre's NFL record for career yards passing, but had an otherwise miserable day as Kansas City trounced him and the Denver Broncos 29-13 Sunday. Manning entered the day with 71,836 yards through the air, 2 shy of Brett Favre's record and tied with Favre with 186 victories. He finished the day with just 35 yards on 5-of-20 passing, four interceptions, two sacks and a zero passer rating before being benched late in the third quarter. --- MILESTONES Zach Miller's 87-yard touchdown in Chicago's 37-13 victory at St. Louis was the longest receiving TD by a Bears tight end since Willard Dewveall had a 91-yarder in 1960 against the 49ers, according to STATS. It was the longest receiving TD by any tight end since Heath Miller's 87-yarder in 2006 for Pittsburgh against the Dolphins. ... Minnesota's Adrian Peterson tied O.J. Simpson for the most 200-yard rushing games in NFL history with six. Peterson has rushed for 11,151 yards and 91 touchdowns in 113 games, joining Jim Brown as the only players in NFL history to rush for at least 11,000 yards and 90 touchdowns in the first 113 games to begin a career. ... In Washington's 47-14 win over New Orleans, Kirk Cousins became the first Redskins QB with at least 300 yards passing and a rating above 150 since Sammy Baugh in 1948. His play-action screen to Jones for 78 yards was the longest TD catch by a Redskins RB since Larry Brown scored from 89 in 1972. ... Chicago's Jay Cutler threw an 87-yard touchdown pass to Zach Miller and an 83-yard TD to Jeremy Langford in the Bears' 37-13 win at St. Louis. He's the first player in franchise history to throw two touchdown passes of at least 80 yards in the same game. --- POTENT PATRIOTS New England improved to 9-0 for the second time in franchise history (2007) with a 27-26 win over the New York Giants. The Patriots are the fifth team in NFL history -- and first since the 1983-98 San Francisco 49ers (16) -- with at least 15 consecutive winning seasons. New England, which scored in all four quarters against the Giants, has scored points in 35 consecutive quarters, surpassing the 1999-2000 St. Louis Rams (31) and 2005 Indianapolis Colts (31) for the longest such streak in NFL history. --- CAM CAN Carolina's Cam Newton threw a touchdown pass and rushed for a touchdown in the Panthers' 27-10 win at Tennessee on Sunday. It marked the 30th time in his career in which he has had both a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown in the same game. Newton joined Steve Young (31) as the only players in NFL history to have at least 30 such games. --- STOMPING ON SAINTS With New Orleans' 47-14 loss at Washington on Sunday, the Saints have allowed 130 points and more than 1,400 yards in their past three games. That marks the most points the Saints have allowed in a single-season three-game span in team history, according to STATS. --- ROAD WARRIORS Matthew Stafford threw for two touchdowns, and the Detroit Lions stopped a 24-game road losing streak against the Green Bay Packers with an 18-16 victory. It was Detroit's first win at Green Bay since a 21-17 victory on Dec. 15, 1991. ... Blake Bortles threw for two touchdowns to lead Jacksonville to a 22-20 victory over Baltimore that snapped a 13-game road skid. It was the first road win for the Jaguars since a 32-28 victory at Cleveland on Dec. 1, 2013. -- BIG BEN'S BACK Ben Roethlisberger stepped in after Landry Jones went down with a left leg injury and passed for 379 yards and three touchdowns as Pittsburgh swarmed Johnny Manziel and Cleveland in a 30-9 romp. Roethlisberger sprained his left foot late in last week's 38-35 win over Oakland and barely practiced. Still, if Roethlisberger's foot was bothering him, it hardly showed as he improved to 19-2 against Cleveland. His 379 passing yards were the most by a quarterback who did not start the game, eclipsing the mark previously held by Minnesota's Wade Wilson (374) in 1990. --- HERE'S JOHNNY Cleveland's Johnny Manziel passed for a career-high 372 yards with a touchdown and an interception, but was also sacked six times in the Browns' 30-9 loss at Pittsburgh. Cleveland has lost five straight and is just 2-13 in its past 15 games under coach Mike Pettine. --- NEW SURFACE IN ST. LOUIS The Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis installed a thick rubberized surface near the stands on both sides of the field after two players slipped on bare concrete the previous two home games. San Francisco 49ers running back Reggie Bush injured his left knee when he slipped at the end of a punt return and is out for the season. --- WILD ENDING The clock was at 0:00 in Baltimore when Jacksonville's Blake Bortles was grabbed by Baltimore linebacker Elvis Dumervil, who snagged the quarterback's facemask while dragging him to the ground. That gave Jacksonville 15 yards and one more play, and Jason Myers kicked a 53-yard field goal for a 22-20 victory on Sunday that ended the Jaguars' 13-game road losing streak. "I've never seen anything like that before," Jaguars linebacker Paul Posluszny said. "That was wild, but I'm glad it ended the way it did." --- SIDELINED Philadelphia's Sam Bradford trudged off the field with what appeared to be a left shoulder injury, and ended up with a concussion to boot, after a hard hit by Miami linebacker Chris McCain on a sack that forced a fumble. X-rays were negative. ... Eagles running back Ryan Mathews also left with a concussion. The Dolphins lost linebacker Jelani Jenkins (ankle) and cornerback Brice McCain (knee) during the game. ... Pittsburgh's Ben Roethlisberger, questionable with a sprained left foot, tossed three touchdown passes in a 30-9 win over Cleveland after Landry Jones left with a sprained left ankle. ... Julian Edelman, New England's leading receiver, sustained a foot injury in the first half against the New York Giants. He had four catches for 53 yards before the injury, and was ruled out for the rest of the game. ... Tennessee receiver Justin Hunter was carted off the field with an apparent right ankle injury late in a 27-10 loss to Carolina. --- SPEAKING "He's still a great quarterback -- just not what he used to be," Kansas City linebacker Derrick Johnson on Denver's Peyton Manning, who finished with just 35 yards on 5-of-20 passing, four interceptions, two sacks and a zero passer rating before being benched late in the third quarter of the Broncos' 29-13 loss. --- "You're one kick away from being Public Enemy No. 1.
