Le'Veon Bell says he's doing well after having right knee surgery

NFL, Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell has undergone surgery on his right knee and tweeted Saturday that he's doing well.

The Steelers lost Bell for the season after his knee bent backward during a sideline tackle in Pittsburgh's game against the Bengals on Nov. 1. Bell tore his medial collateral ligament and is believed to have posterior cruciate ligament damage as well.

Bell's anterior cruciate ligament is intact, which will help him make a recovery for the 2016 season, his last before he enters free agency.

Bell rushed for 556 yards in five-plus games this season before getting hurt.

DeAngelo Williams filled in spectacularly for Bell on Sunday, running for 170 yards and two scores and adding 55 yards receiving in an overtime win over the Raiders.
