Haloti Ngata to miss first game with Lions

ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Defensive tackle Haloti Ngata is one of three Detroit Lions players ruled out of Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Ngata injured his calf during the second half of Monday night's loss to Seattle. Also declared out were running back Joique Bell (ankle) and tight end Eric Ebron (knee).

None of the three practiced this week.

To help with the injury to Ngata and the season-ending injury to starting defensive tackle Tyrunn Walker, the Lions signed Andre Fluellen for the ninth time and also brought in Ishmaa'ily Kitchen, who was most recently with the Cleveland Browns.

The Lions had 14 players listed on the injury report for at least one day this week, including 11 starters along with No. 3 receiver Lance Moore and linebacker Travis Lewis. Most of those players, including Moore and Lewis, are probable.

The only ailing Lions not probable or out are right guard Larry Warford (ankle), whom Lions coach Jim Caldwell said was "on the mend" Friday, and safety James Ihedigbo (quad), who has been limited all week.

Both players are questionable for Sunday.
