These five QBs have the most help

NFL

We like to talk about quarterbacks in isolation, as if they are solely responsible for their team's fortunes. Often, wins and winning percentage are quoted as quarterback statistics, as if there weren't 44 other players suiting up for those games and coaching wasn't making an impact.

In reality, quarterback fortunes often rise and fall according to supporting casts.

Let's take a look at the five quarterbacks who currently have the most help.

Andy Dalton, Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals have always had a certain belief that if they surrounded Dalton with enough talent, he could lead them where they want to go. Through the first quarter of this season, they are finally being proved right. Cincinnati's offensive line has been strong for years, and despite hiccups from Russell Bodine and Andre Smith, it remains a strong unit. They have surrendered just 25 total pressures all season and Andrew Whitworth has allowed just two protecting Dalton's blind side. Whitworth is one of the league's most underrated players and is as good as any left tackle in the game.

The real difference this season, though, is with the offensive weaponry Dalton has at his disposal. For years, the Bengals have had A.J. Green and not much else, but now that offense is bristling with quality weapons. Marvin Jones has emerged alongside Green as a quality receiver, and tight end Tyler Eifert has begun to show why he was such a highly touted draft prospect. Both of those players are averaging at least 13.9 yards per reception. Giovanni Bernard looks capable of busting a big play at any moment with the ball in hand and has caught 92.3 percent of his targets as a receiving option out of the backfield.
