Antonio Brown's streak of 35 games with at least 5 catches, 50 yards ends

NFL, Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens

One of the most impressive feats in NFL receiving history is over.

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown's streak of 35 straight regular-season games with at least five catches and at least 50 yards ended Thursday night against the Baltimore Ravens. Brown finished with five catches for 42 yards in a 23-20 overtime loss.

The streak was in jeopardy the moment Ben Roethlisberger got hurt last week against St. Louis. Brown and Roethlisberger have great chemistry, and the timing between Brown and Michael Vick was off on several occasions Thursday night.

On a third-down play late, Brown appeared ready to get open, and Vick didn't pull the trigger. On Vick's only deep throw of the night, he threw a catchable ball to Brown, who was diving and had two defenders trailing. He couldn't secure it.

Vick said the Ravens defense gave Brown extra attention to try to contain him, "but you still have to try to get him the ball [more]. I didn't want to force it."

Brown and Vick almost connected down the sideline for a sizable gain, but Vick's pass was deep enough that Brown had to lift one foot to catch it, going out of bounds.

Laveranues Coles had the next-longest such streak in NFL history with 19 games.
