The Detroit Lions have acquired tight end Tim Wright from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Lions will send kicker Kyle Brindza to Tampa Bay in return for Wright. Brindza thanked the Lions in a tweet Monday.

— Kyle Brindza (@kylebrindza) August 31, 2015Wright, who initially went undrafted out of Rutgers, has now been traded by the Bucs for the second time. Tampa Bay originally traded Wright to New England last season for Pro Bowl guard Logan Mankins.
The Patriots released Wright in June. He had 26 receptions for 259 yards and six touchdowns in his only season in New England.
He re-signed with Tampa Bay -- only to be traded again. Wright has played in 32 games, making 80 catches for 830 yards and 11 touchdowns.
This is the third trade of the preseason for the Lions, who picked up draft picks when they traded Mohammed Seisay to Seattle and Michael Williams to New England earlier this offseason. The Lions have two former first-round picks at tight end -- Eric Ebron (2014) and Brandon Pettigrew (2009). They also have Joseph Fauria, who was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2013.
